Frequently asked questions
Where is Bedford House AFH located?
We are located in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood in Spokane Valley, WA. Our home is designed to feel exactly like that, a home, while being conveniently close to local hospitals and medical centers for emergencies or appointments.
What levels of care do you provide?
We offer a wide range of care, from basic supervision and companionship to heavy care for residents with limited mobility. We specialize in dementia care, incontinence management, medication administration, and support for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding).
What is the staff-to-resident ratio?
We maintain a low staff-to-resident ratio, which is one of the biggest advantages over large assisted living facilities. This ensures that your loved one receives immediate assistance when needed and builds a genuine, personal relationship with our caregivers.
What kind of food do you serve?
We provide nutritious, home-cooked meals three times a day, plus snacks. We believe good food is essential for health and happiness. We can accommodate specific dietary restrictions (such as diabetic or low-sodium diets) and personal food preferences.
Do you offer activities for residents?
Yes. We believe in keeping residents engaged physically and mentally. Our routine includes light exercises, games, music, and socialization. The warm nature of our East African staff means there is always conversation and companionship throughout the day.
Can we visit our loved ones?
Absolutely. We encourage family and friends to visit. We believe that maintaining strong family connections is vital for our residents’ emotional well-being. Please contact us to coordinate the best times to ensure it fits with your loved one’s rest schedule.
We would be honored to care for your loved one.
Every family’s situation is unique. We’re here to listen, answer your questions, and help you make the best decision for your loved one.
